Time is the 25th century. The Dominion War is long over, the Changelings, some of the Vorta and even Jem'Hadar have joined Starfleet. Gamma Quadrant has been open for exploration.
The Borg do not exist. Around the year 2423 the combined forces of Starfleet and species 8472 (the Scythiaans) managed to ultimately defeat the last great enemy. (Some details may be found in the short story Kernel).

Captain Mark Anthony, human male, 64
Anthony was born on Volcania - a multi - racial colony planet modelled on the Vulcan society. The inhabitants follow the philosophy of Surak and engage in mental discipline to supress emotions.
Anthony, however, is a very passionate man. His continuing struggle to remain calm under stress earns him even more respect from his crew as well as a lot of worries from his councelor.
Cmdr Jerry Kowalsky human male 59
Little is known about him except his official files.
He was born in Poznan in Central Europe, graduated Starfleet Academy with honours and yet he's never been offerred a command of his own. This might be the reason for his apparent bitterness. He has no friends aboard the ship and Anthony sometimes regrets having him as his XO. However, Kowalsky is still a professional and efficient officer.
Computer Officer
Pierre is a TCS computer: Telepathic Computer System. He is capable of reading the crew's minds to certain extent. He supervises all of the ships' operations which are done by a mental link he maintains with all the officers on and off duty.
He is also a sentient being. While off duty, he uses an android body of a human male.
Ltn Cmdr Liana Rex, human female, 38
Chief Science Officer
Apart from being a happy wife of Tim, Liana is also a very competent science officer. Usually calm and patient and extremely thorough in her work. She tends to triple-check all the details before reporting to her commanding officers.
She is also very sociable and warm, she has good relationships with most of the crew and particularly with her closest friends: Aleyah and Tanaki.
Ltn Cmdr Timothy Rex, Bajoran male, 40
Chief Engineer of the USS Explorer.
Very proud of his work and extemely ambitious. He takes every minor problem as a personal failure. His wife, Liana, is doing a great job comforting him and making him see everything from a proper perspective.
Ensign Piete Dang, Gurlan male, 112
Helmsman
Gurlans are an extremely long living species. Their life span is about 800 Earth years. They, however, never mature. Even the oldest Gurlans remain childish and emotional.
Those serving in Starfleet, like Piete, learn some discipline but under stress they display their natural behaviour. It is accepted though, as long as it doesn't hinder their efficiency.
